*roasttrip 2004: a sunbaked summer*

Japan~Tokyo (comiket madness and inflamed gum):

Hot!... even in the nights.

I got a little lost on my way to the hotel and was a mashed mess when I finally got there.

They gave me a neat little room with an even chibe-er bathroom in the older section of the hotel.

There was an earthquake during the night but i half slept through it (/ _ \)...ahh regrets.

Children know no fear of summer sore.

Sightseeings and that oldest themepark in Japan.

Sweet desserts and cold tea was a treat.

Akihabara is a maze of toys paradise, and Harajuku is filled with intriguing interesting people.

Another tea break! Cold mo cha and sweets in a petite teahouse with tatami, decorated with dolls.

Walked some more, and snapped some more impromptu photos.

Nakano, fascinating place of first/secondhand books and toys treasures,

and numberous jaw dropping super dollfie beauties.

Summer festival, fun colourful decorations and cute girls in yukata.

Busily being trigger happy. Many didn't like photograhs of themselves being taken without their permission.

I tried being sneaky....but nine out of ten still knew anyway.

Met many charming talented people.

They were all awfully understanding patient towards my inability to comprehend and speak Japanese.

I felt really lousy and obnoxious.

Suburban neighbourhood life was quiet and peaceful... many families keep dogs, while bugs sang their song all through the day.

Ma-ku-do-na-ru-do ha-n-ba~ga~.

Comiket!.......a gargantuan event squeezed into an immensely hot cramped space.

1irst day was rather orderly and moderately paced, with girls and their cute trolleys, little pulleys and luggages...

2econd day was more crowded than canned sardines, with a balanced mix of boys and girls...

3hrid day poured. It was an armageddon of stampede rampage, with an armada chaos of madmen....

The cosplay event was held on the rooftop...under the scorching sun.

I was reduced to a salt pulp, hence the absence of photos.m(-_-)m sorry.

Don't know how them cosplayers do it, looking good in the costumes under the makeups, the heat and all.

My full admiration towards them....

however, there were also a few cosplayers who made me felt very very afraid indeed.

Meeting people! I was gawping like it was my sole profession, the whole time.

Clinging to my camera and sketchbook, I managed to get a few autographed sketches and photos, thanks to Oshiguchi san.

Everyone was so busy at the convention... I felt bad interrupting them.

SIA girl cosplayer? She was too fast for my camera....they all moved around like speeding bullets. Giddy.

Drank bottled water like a dehydratead water barrel on Mars...

A beautiful evening for coffee and desserts.

Cute girl... cute lady... I was told not to put this up.

All for the same, one for none.

Doodle time aroused much curiousity and interest.

It.

Parting group photo.

Spot ons! Yuu san's neat shoes, stuffed toy bunny, a really neat toilet, decorated with toys and posters.
